New Year's Eve log!
Breakfast: 2 low fat whole wheat Eggo waffles w/natural peanut butter, a drizzle of syrup, half a banana, a little cinnamon, a few cacao nibs. And a slice of bacon. :D (pretty GOOD. for the most part)
That kept me full til NOON! And since I took a half day today, I went home and ate lunch. But first I stopped and bought this:

Protein and it's role in your workout
The following information came from a conversation I was having with Nick that basically turned into an interview about nutrition. It was long, so I’ve split it into two parts. Part II will be about carbohydrates. I can’t take credit for the information, b/c everything but my question toward the bottom was written by him.

Carbohydrates and their role in your diet
Your body requires carbohydrates in high doses on a daily basis in order to function properly. In fact, they should make up about half of the calories in your diet (The USDA recommends that 45%-65% of a person’s daily calories come from carbohydrates, 10%-35% from protein and 20%-35% from fats.). This is why low carb diets are rather silly.
There are, however, types of carbs which inhibit our...

Sydney
This morning she barfed up some object she had eaten and it made her vomit bloody. :( I hope it’s not serious. I intend to inspect the object (which I saved) to figure out what it is. I suspect it’s a piece of a cow hoof that I give her sometimes.

Just keep an eye on her, make sure she’s still eating and going to the bathroom normally....

The Satiety Index
This is really fascinating stuff, you guys!
The Satiety Index (SI) is one of the most interesting concepts created by rating foods by their ability to be more or less satisfying than white bread, which is used as a reference index of 100. Food items rated less satisfying and filling over a two-hour period following their consumption were given a score below 100, while food items that were...

Introvert's Corner: →
As an introvert, people can be exhausting. A little insight into why I do the things I do:
Skipping parties you don’t want to attend.
Why?
Because parties are supposed to be fun, and if you don’t have fun and have no other compelling reason to make an appearance, then there is no point in going.
When you do go to parties, leaving when you want, even if others consider it...

New Year's Resolution (of sorts)
I never make these, b/c I know myself well enough to know that there isn’t much point - I’m always changing my mind, changing directions, changing <insert noun>. So this is just a goal that happens to coincide with the new year. I’d have made the same goal no matter the time of year. So here it is:
Diet: Eat more protein and fruit, eat fewer refined carbohydrates and...

Where did you get those egg rolls?
My friend’s mother sent them home with me (she’s Korean). I unfortunately cooked them in such a way that they turned out really greasy and I got a stomachache from it. Luckily I have 7 more of them in the freezer, though.
